The Finger Lakes Chamber Music Society
The Finger Lakes Chamber Music Society
Fri, 07/15/2011 - 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Backstage Pass proudly presents The Finger Lakes Chamber Music Society.
Conductor, violist and Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival founder Richard Auldon Clark and members of the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra join host Julia Figueras to talk about the upcoming festival and play chamber works with flute. Backstage Pass with The Finger Lakes Chamber Music Society airs Friday, July 15 at 1 p.m. on Classical 91.5./FM-HD 91.5-1.
How did the festival get started? Richard, who lived in Upstate New York, loved the peacefulness and beauty of the Finger Lakes. What better place, he thought, to bring his students for a tutorial in chamber music? In 2009, a Keuka Lake vineyard heard of what Richard was doing, and offered him their site atop a hill as a concert venue. The audiences loved it, and the Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival was born.
Backstage Pass is a live, hour-long radio series that is committed to highlighting performing artists – giving Classical 91.5/90.3/FM-HD 91.5-1 listeners the opportunity to hear local and visiting musicians performing live. The series is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.

"Four Sketches for Flute and String Trio"Richard Auldon Clark

I very much enjoyed hearing the premiere of Professor Richard Auldon Clark's
"Four Sketches for Flute and String Trio" on the 15 July 2011"Backstage Pass"
program. It's eminently listenable at first hearing and has that elusive quality of familiarity; ones wants to hear it again and again. Professor Clark said that it would be played again by the Manhatten Chamber Orchestra in January of 2012 and, on the basis of this "Backstage Pass" program, I would urge all those who can attend to do so.

A friend of mine told me this
