Galactic Sunburst

This week on WXXI-FM, Memorial Art Gallery curator of education Marlene Hamann-Whitmore offers an overview of the Fiberart International Show at the MAG.  If you go, you’ll see eye-popping, colorful work rooted in ancient techniques and materials with non-traditional textiles.  (You can hear her overview Wednesday, May 25th at 8:35 a.m. on Classical 91.5.) The show is open until July 3rd.  In this short video, she spotlights one piece by American artist Laurie Carlson.
