Have you checked out the newest programming for kids on WXXI? Joining an already stellar line up of children's programming, Sid the Science Kid and Martha Speaks are quickly becoming favorites with young viewers (and adults too!).
Sid the Science Kid, from Jim Henson's studios, is a scientific inquiry based program for preschool-aged children. Sid and his friends investigate topics such as senses, transformation & change, health or tools & measurement by asking questions and exploring different answers. Sid's spunkiness and true preschooler nature (why? why? why?) make his character fun to watch and easy to relate to when he encounters a challenge. Sid the Science Kid airs Monday through Friday on WXXI channel 21/cable 11 at 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. For more science exploration fun, check out Curious George!
Based on the award winning children's books by Susan Meddaugh, Martha Speaks exposes viewers to new oral vocabulary through the adventures of Martha the talking dog. Martha gained the power to speak after eating alphabet soup (the letters went to her brain instead of her stomach) and she uses words such as mumble, plead, knack, stupendous, evidence and merit during her everyday experiences with her trusty friend Helen . Martha Speaks airs Monday through Friday on WXXI channel 21/cable 11 at 7:30 a.m.
* There's only a few days left to enter WXXI's Martha Speaks Coloring and Caption Contest! All entries for children ages 4-12 must be post marked by Saturday, November 1st!*
