WXXI Curious Kids Workshops
By Julie Levy ~ Posted Tue, 04/14/2009 - 10:46am
Are you an early childhood educator? Would you like to learn how to integrate media and hands-on activities with books to teach concepts in your classroom? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then WXXI's Curious Kids workshops may be for you!
Curious Kids Workshops use engaging resources from WXXI & PBS to improve literacy skills in the Pre-K classroom while helping to build a positive school-to-home connection. Workshop participants will:
- Learn to incorporate short clips from WXXI’s PBS KIDS television programs along with developmentally appropriate books and hands-on activities for use with preschool aged children.
- Receive a WXXI Family Literacy Kit for each workshop (or series) attended. Family Literacy Kits are an excellent way to connect learning at school to families at home.
- Explore online resources, such as lesson plans, activities and video clips, that are available for FREE use in your classroom from WXXI and PBS.
To learn more, check out the attached workshop flyer or contact Julie Levy at: jlevy@wxxi.org
We hope to see you at a workshop soon!
