From the Top brings us four exciting programs this month. Two of those programs are hosted from the program's home: Jordan Hall in Boston. From Jordan Hall we will hear music of Glinka, Bach, and more performed by thoughtful and musically gifted teenagers.
Joined by the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, The New York Philharmonic presents Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in February. Other highlights of the month include an encore broadcast with Leonard Bernstein, J.S. Bach's Keyboard Concerto and two Brahms symphonies.
In some Protestant traditions, The Feast of the Transfiguration brings the season after Epiphany to a close, and precedes Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the season of Lent. Tune in to this program, as we listen to music of brilliance, and introspection.
February 2 is celebrated each year as both the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple. On this edition of With Heart and Voice weāll explore music for these observances.
