On Friday, November 16th I had the opportunity to sit down for a one-on-one interview with Diane Rehm before a sold-out audience at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Diane was not only engaging and entertaining -- but forthright when audience questions turned to the importance of NPR in the current media landscape. "It's more important now than ever," replied Diane.
The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival is underway — and with it WXXI's extensive jazz programming and events. WXXI will film three Jazz Festival performances at Kilbourn Hall as part of its Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival series.
You will often hear talk about WXXI radio providing “driveway moments” – those times when you were listening, and even though you arrived at your destination, you stayed in your car to hear the end of the news story or the symphonic piece. This occurrence is so prevalent, that I have had members come up to me in the supermarket or at a community event to share their instances with me!
As the election season comes to a close, I'd encourage you to tune in to WXXI on Election Night to keep on top of all our local and national races. WXXI's news team will be providing results and analysis with 1370 Connection’s Bob Smith and WXXI’s Center for Public Affairs News Director Julie Philipp in studio corralling up-to-the-minute reports from our field corespondents.
