You may be hearing a lot about the Gettysburg Address as this year marks the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's iconic speech delivered at the dedication of the cemetery at Gettysburg. By redefining liberty and nationalism by essentially fusing them together, Lincoln not only inspired the North to continue the fight, he forever changed how we think about our country.

Proud to support the green movement

WXXI and the Little Theatre are proud to support Greentopia, the annual interactive festival that spotlights what our region is doing to embrace the green movement. The festival runs September 10-15, and in anticipation of it, WXXI-TV has been presenting an encore broadcast of Ken Burns’ six-part series The National Parks, September 2-7 at 9 p.m.

The Prohibition era takes over on WXXI-TV/HD

If you're a fan of "The Civil War," "Jazz" and "Baseball," you will most certainly be glued to WXXI-TV/HD October 2-4 as  we present "Prohibition", a new three-part documentary series by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. Set in the era of bathtub gin and bootleggers, the series tells the story of the rise, rule, and fall of the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
