From The Top & Homework Hotline

Have you heard the news?? From the Top is coming to Rochester on Sunday, January 20, 2008!

From The Top is a national musical organization that encourages and celebrates the commitment of young people to music. From the Top programming includes nationally broadcast television and radio shows, educational programs and a website.

Here are some of the activities planned at WXXI and in Rochester to celebrate From the Top:

Thursday, January 17: The 5 Rochester area students selected to perform in the From the Top show, Will Cho, Kieran Hanlon, Michael Sabatka, Stephen Ryck and Harvest Zhang, will perform live at WXXI for WHAM-TV's morning show with 5, 3-minute segments airing between 5:55 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

Friday, January 18: The local From the Top performers will visit RCSD schools #15 and #33 for small group performances and talks. Also, From the Top host, Christopher O'Riley will be on Backstage Pass with Julia Figueras, live at 1:00 p.m. on WXXI's Classical 91.5

Sunday, January 20: From the Top performance, 3:00 p.m. at Nazareth College's Callahan Theatre. WXXI has details on the From the Top upcoming visit; click here for complete information.

To follow up with From the Top, WXXI's Homework Hotline program, which airs Mondays through Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., statewide, during the school year, will air a series of segments that focus on From the Top performers, music and New York State musical talents.
