The Cologne Bach Society Vocal Ensemble and Chorus perform at the Eight Bridges Festival

From Roman ruins to modern engineering marvels, many German bridges have become symbolic landmarks, as well as inspiration for the Eight Bridges Festival, which we visit in the February 18th broadcast.

2/11      Ottoman Miracles  Howard Griffiths leads the National Youth Orchestra of German in music of deFalla, Maurice Ohana, Murat Coskun, Ahmed Saygun, Mozart, Ravel and Tüzün

2/18      Eight Bridges Festival  Thomas Neuhoff leads soloists and the Cologne Bach Society Vocal Ensemble and Chorus in selections by Johann Sebastian Bach. 

2/25      Wagner Birthday Concert  Christian Thielemann leads soloists and the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra in Act 1 from The Valkyrie, Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde, Siegfried’s Rhine Journey and Funeral March from Twilight of the Gods, and the Prelude from The Mastersingers of Nuremberg.
