Beatrice and Benedict is an opéra-comique in two acts. The young Beatrice and Benedict are ardent rivals of wit — both have vowed to live out their days in happy independence. Seeing their veiled love for one another, their friends Hero and Claudio conspire to expose the truth.
HGO Studio alumna Joyce DiDonato returns as the sharp-witted and sarcastic Beatrice. The role of Benedict is sung by Norman Reinhardt, while Ryan McKinny and Liam Bonner play Benedict’s conspiring friends Don Pedro and Claudio. Ailish Tynan is Hero, the lovestruck daughter of Leonato and Leann, and Sandel-Pantaleo is Beatrice’s lady in waiting, Ursula
