America Abroad: Arab Youth in Today’s Economy
America Abroad: Arab Youth in Today’s Economy
Sun, 09/12/2010 - 10:00pm
A look at the difficulties facing contemporary Arab youth.
AM 1370/FM-HD91.5-2 presents America Abroad: Arab Youth in Today’s Economy, airing Sunday, September 12 at 10 p.m. In this edition, America Abroad documents the difficulties faced by young Arabs as they enter the work force, examining how economic malaise in the United Arab Emirates and Syria shrinks expectations as well as pocketbooks. It also highlights the consequences of the extended "waithood" period that now precedes marriage in countries like Morocco.
Co-anchored by Ray Suarez and Deborah Amos, America Abroad humanizes foreign policy, providing insight and perspective on how it is made and on those who make it. The monthly programs cover a range of critical issues, from America's evolving engagement with North Korea and Pakistan to Russia's return as a world power and America's challenges in communicating its policies and rebuilding international public approval.
