WXXI is proud to welcome Juliana Athaydes.

Backstage Pass, WXXI's live monthly radio series that features local and visiting musicians, returns to Classical 91.5/FM-HD91.5-1 on Wednesday, August 25 at 1 p.m. when host Julia Figueras welcomes Juliana Athayde. Concertmaster of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and an associate professor of violin at the Eastman School of Music, Juliana will be joined by her family, who are all accomplished jazz and classical musicians. Performing under the name of the Amazing Athaydes, the group is comprised of Juliana, her parents Bob and Julie, and her three siblings -- 24-year old Gabrielle, 22-year old Kyle, and 19-year old Ellie. In addition to playing live in studio, the Athaydes will talk about what it was like growing up in a musical household.

Backstage Pass is a live, hour-long radio series that is committed to highlighting performing artists – giving listeners the opportunity to hear local and visiting artists perform live. The series is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.
