Dr. Macey shares with WXXI's Brenda Tremblay how he solved a 16th Century brainteaser.

On the night of Friday, November 5 an audience at Rochester’s 10th Annual Early Music Festival will hear a Renaissance motet performed from a brand new edition by Dr. Patrick Macey, head of the Musicology Department at the Eastman School.  Macey discovered – and solved – a brainteaser within the piece that had stumped singers until Macey figured it out. Classical 91.5 host Brenda Tremblay speaks with Macey and learns that his interest in Renaissance music developed years ago at the University of California-Berkeley. Tune in to Classical 91.5/FM-HD91.51 on Friday, November 5 between 6 and 10 a.m. to hear their conversation. Then, visit WXXI.org and click on "Arts and Culture" to hear more of their conversation.
