Backstage Pass with Mark Kellogg
Backstage Pass with Mark Kellogg
Fri, 05/27/2011 - 1:00pm
Backstage Pass proudly presents Mark Kellogg, principal trombonist of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
Julia Figueras welcomes trombonist Mark Kellogg to Backstage Pass for an hour of performance and conversation, airing Friday, May 27 at 1 p.m. on Classical 91.5/FM-HD 91.5-1. Kellogg will perform a mix of classical and jazz on trombone and euphonium, and will be joined by Joe Werner, piano; Chris Azzara, jazz piano: and Geoff Saunders, jazz bass.
Kellogg is Associate Professor of Trombone, Euphonium, and Brass Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music. A faculty member since 1991, Mr. Kellogg teaches trombone, euphonium, alto trombone, and jazz trombone, and coordinates the brass chamber music program. An active performer, he also holds the position of Principal Trombone of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout his career he has embraced a wide variety of performing roles, from jazz soloist to chamber musician to orchestral performer.
Backstage Pass is a live, hour-long radio series that is committed to highlighting performing artists – giving Classical 91.5/90.3/FM-HD 91.5-1 listeners the opportunity to hear local and visiting musicians performing live. The series is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation. The program will repeat Sunday, May 29 at 2 p.m.on Classical 91.5.
