Holiday MARATHON on Create

Tune in for your favorite Create programs featuring special holiday recipes, crafts, travel destinations and celebration traditions from around the world!
The Holiday MARATHON kicks off at 6 a.m. on Saturday, December 24 and keeps you busy all day until 6 p.m. on WXXI Create (DT21.3/cable 433). The Holiday MARATHON replays from 9 p.m. Saturday, December 24 to 6 a.m. Sunday, December 25.

Burt Wolf: Taste of Freedom "Hanukkah" - Burt Wolf uncovers the history of Hanukkah, visits the largest and most comprehensive collection of Hanukkah lamps in the world, explains why potato pancakes and doughnuts are served at Hanukkah and discovers the secret of the spinning dreidel.
Food Trip with Todd English "Israel: Land ofF Milk & Honey" - Todd visits Akko, Nazareth, Jerusalem and the Wailing Wall and experiences a Chanukah dinner.
P. Allen Smith's Garden Home "Garden Home for the Holidays" - P. Allen Smith shares timesaving holiday recipes with ties to the garden and provides interesting history on traditional holidays such as Christmas, Chanukah, Winter Solstice and Kwanzaa.
Nonna Tell Me a Story: Lidia's Christmas Kitchen - In this holiday special, one of public television’s favorite Italian-American cooks, Lidia Bastianich, tells her grandchildren about Christmas celebrations in her native Italy.
Burt Wolf: Taste of Freedom "Christmas" - Join Burt Wolf and learn how the Christmas tree got indoors, what the First Lady is doing for the holidays, how department stores create their magical windows and what Santa has to say about all of this.
Taste of Louisiana with Chef John Folse & Co.: Our Food Heritage "German Christmas" - Frieda Arwe of the German-American Cultural Center in Gretna teaches Chef Folse to make a traditional German drink, Gluehwein. Julie Council and band members perform traditional German Christmas music.
Burt Wolf: Travels & Traditions "Getting Ready for Christmas at Biltmore Estate - Explore the largest private home in the U.S. and see how they prepare for the holiday celebration.

Join Burt Wolf as he uncovers the epicenter of African American culture in the United States and pickup some down-home recipes.
