"Homework Hotline" Celebrates Black History on WXXI-TV/HD
"Homework Hotline" Celebrates Black History on WXXI-TV/HD
Wednesday nights, between 5:30 and 6:00 pm
In honor of Black History Month, WXXI's Homework Hotline will showcase segments that profile community leaders, business professionals, and artists that are shattering boundaries and making a difference in their chosen fields and communities.
This series airs on Wednesday nights (between 5:30 and 6:00 pm on Hotline) throughout the month of February. (Except for the week of the 22, which is February Break).
The New York state-wide, live call-in show – where kids get homework help on the air – is part of the Homework Hotline’s year-long celebration of its 20th season. Designed for children in grades four through 12, the program provides the tools students need to succeed with homework, and supports academic achievement across a variety of New York State Learning Standards. Teachers from Rochester Dial-A-Teacher take students calls and send them to WXXI studios in Rochester. The host teachers, who are experts in subjects across the curriculum, are standing by to help kids work through homework assignments live on television. Homework Hotline is funded, in part, by the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). To learn more about Homework Hotline, click here.
