The first wave of baby boomers is starting to retire from nursing, and the healthcare system is bracing itself the vast number of people who will soon need critical care.Inside the Nursing Crisis, a four-part series airing Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. beginning March 24 on WXXI-TV/HD (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11), examines this serious issue of a nursing shortage, and asks some of the nation’s top nursing experts and hospital administrators for solutions to prevent our healthcare system from plunging into disaster. Featured in the final episode,airing Saturday, April 14 at 2:30 p.m., is University of Rochester School of Nursing's Dean Dr. Kathy Rideout, along with URMC School of Nursing faculty and students.
