Intelligence Squared US: Is Obesity the Government's Business?
Sun, 04/15/2012 - 9:00pm
Obesity costs our health care system nearly $150 billion a year and is a major risk factor for expensive, chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Should the government intervene, or is this a matter of individual rights and personal responsibility?
Intelligence Squared U.S. presents Former Surgeon General David Satcher, and Dr. Pamela Peeke, author of Fight Fat After Forty speaking for the motion, with Paul Campos, author of The Obesity Myth, and John Stossel, host of Stossel on Fox News speaking against the motion. Moderated by John Donvan, the debate, Is Obesity the Government's Business?, airs Sunday, April 15 at 9 p.m. on AM 1370/FM-HD 91.5-2.
