PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest

Does your child love to write or draw? Then they should enter the WXXI PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest, where they could win really cool prizes if their stories win. First place stories are forwarded on to the national level to compete. 

The Contest encourages children in grades K-3 in communities across the country to celebrate the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original pieces. Eligible children from the WXXI viewing area are encouraged to write and illustrate stories to the local WXXI contest, which will select winners and award prizes. Children in grades K-3 from the WXXI viewing area are encouraged to write and illustrate stories to the local WXXI contest, which will select winners and award prizes. The first place winners from the local contests will then be entered into the national level of the Contest where a panel of judges will select the national winners. National winners will be announced and prizes, including items such as tablets, e-readers and MP3 players, which will be awarded during summer 2012. As in years past, winning entries in each of the Contest categories will be featured on the site on the national PBS Kids Go Writers site, and visitors to the Contest site will continue to have the opportunity to create “Story Mashups” with winning stories.
