The Ithaca Festival on WITH-FM and WRUR-FM
The Ithaca Festival on WITH-FM and WRUR-FM
Sat, 06/02/2012 - 10:00am - 2:00pm
WITH-FM 90.1 and WRUR-FM 88.5 will broadcast live from The Ithaca Festival at The Commons, in the heart of the city of Ithaca, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Popular radio personality Scott Regan will host his morning show, Open Tunings, at the festival site from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. He’ll be followed by Rootabaga Boogie’s Tracey Craig, who will host her folk and roots show from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Listeners can hear the live broadcast on WITH-FM 90.1 (Ithaca) and WRUR-FM 88.5 (Rochester), as well as online at WITHRadio.org and WRUR.org.
WITH-FM is a broadcast partnership between WXXI Public Broadcasting and Hobart & William Smith Colleges (HWS) that offers a mix of eclectic music, NPR offerings, and alternative news programs. Coinciding with the launch of WITH-FM, WXXI and HWS introduced WITH-HD2, a 24-hour HD radio service dedicated to Classical music, and Reachout Radio, a 24-hour radio reading service that provides readings of local and national newspapers, magazines, and books for people who are print-handicapped. Reachout Radio is closed-circuit, and is accessible through a specially-tuned radio, which is provided free of charge to eligible applicants.
WRUR-FM 88.5, a broadcast partnership between WXXI and the University of Rochester, is operated by the students of the university on a volunteer basis. The station runs from its facility at the University of Rochester’s Todd Union Building. Its format offers a diverse mix of musical styles, from hip-hop to classical. The partnership has enabled AM 1370 to simulcast local and national programming on FM 88.5. NPR is currently simulcast on WRUR 88.5 and AM 1370 Monday-Friday 5am-9am and 4pm-6pm.
