Lighthouse/Lightning Rod

Lighthouse/Lightning Rod

Ongoing coverage from WXXI News

WXXI News was been granted exclusive behind-the-scenes access to document the project.

Tony award-winning choreographer Garth Fagan and Grammy Award-wining musician and composer Wynton Marsalis joined forces twenty years ago for Griot New York, and now they’re doing it again! Lighthouse/Lightning Rod was performed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) on September 27, 2012. The concept and choreography were created by Fagan. The original music was composed and arranged by Marsalis.

WXXI News will be there, every step of the way, capturing the project to fruition. WXXI News coverage has included a 1370 Connection special with Garth Fagan and his artistic director (9/21), a Need to Know Rochester interview (9/21) plus live reports on AM 1370 heard the week of September 24th.
