On-Demand of American Graduate Day USA
On-Demand Version of the full-day of broadcasts and outreach event dedicated to engaging our country around the dropout crisis which aired on 9/22/12. Watch On-Demand
WXXI presented American Graduate Day USA, on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. This unprecedented full-day broadcast and outreach event is dedicated to engaging our country around the dropout crisis with special celebrity guests, relevant spokespeople, and compelling stories from students themselves. (Watch On-Demand)
American Graduate Day USA broadcast from the Tisch WNET Studios at Lincoln Center in New York City, and tells the story of Community Partners and how they provide support, advice, and intervention services to at-risk students, families, and schools. With every Community Partner profile, viewers were invited to take an active role in their work and in the American Graduate initiative by volunteering their time, talent, or other resources. The event also served to kick-off a week of American Graduate-related programming airing on public television stations nationally. Each half hour featured a 23-minute segment about a national organization working to keep kids on track and in schools.
Local support for the American Graduate Initiative and this broadcast is made possible by Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection, preparing students for graduation, college, and a career.
