Join Classical 91.5 host Julia Figueras for the screening of this 1982 film featuring a compelling score by Philip Glass.

WXXI is pleased to host its first Classical 91.5 Film Series at The Little Theatre. Three films are featured in the series, with Koyaanisqatsi being the first, screening Saturday, August 3 at 1 p.m. at Little Theatre. Classical 91.5 Music Director and Mid-day Host Julia Figueras will introduce this groundbreaking documentary, which will be followed by a discussion on the use of music in this film with a panel including music and movie specialists.

Released in 1982, Godfrey Reggio's Koyaanisqatsi (Hopi for "life out of balance") explores the relationship between nature and technology – and the impact humans have on both--through film techniques such as slow motion and time lapse. Void of dialogue and plot, Philip Glass' score provides the atmosphere for the film.
