The Moody Blues at the Royal Albert Hall
Sun, 09/14/2014 - 12:00am - 2:00am
Tune into this live-taped concert of the iconic rock band.
The music of The Moody Blues has spanned many generations — touching people's emotions with songs about life experiences. This enduring quality and the band's beloved status among fans are truly evident in The Moody Blues at the Royal Albert Hall, a concert taped live in 2000. The Moody Blues at the Royal Albert Hall airs Sunday, September 14, 2014 at midnight on WXXI-TV.
For this special, The Moody Blues partnered with Musical Director Larry Baird, conductor of the World Festival Orchestra. The band performed many of their classic hits in this iconic London venue such as "Nights in White Satin," "The Story in Your Eyes" and "Tuesday Afternoon." They also included "Words You Say" from their 1999 album Strange Times. More than a dozen years later, this performance stands as a true Moody Blues treasure, a testament to the magic created on stage by John Lodge, Justin Hayward, Graeme Edge and Ray Thomas.
