Buffalo Soldiers Presentation Team from local VFW Post 9251 will give an overview of the history of African-American soldiers after the Civil War at Central Library.

What: The Buffalo Soldiers Presentation Team, which is part of the Pennington-Moye Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9251, will give an overview of the history of African-American soldiers after the Civil War. The name “Buffalo Soldiers” was given by Native Americans on the Western Plains. The Team will talk about the uniforms worn and equipment used by the soldiers and will also discuss how the Soldiers communicated in the 1800’s. They will bring various artifacts for the presentation. Light refreshments will be served.

Where: Central Library of Rochester, Kate Gleason Auditorium (1st Floor) at 115 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14604.
