Arts Friday: 50 Years of "The Elements of Style", Part 1

The Elements of Style was orginally written in 1918 and privately published by Cornell University professor William Strunk, Jr. Strunk passed on his vision of good writing to generations of American students through his classic book. This month marks the 50th anniversary of its publication, and to celebrate AM 1370 invited Elaine Engst, Director of Rare and Manuscript Collections, Cornell University; Mark Garvey, Author, Stylized: A Slightly Obsessive History of Strunk & White’s The Elements of Style; and Wendy Low, Director of Youth Education & Community Outreach, Writers & Books in studio for a special Arts Friday edition of 1370 Connection. The live talk show aired this afternoon and will reair Friday, April 3 at 9 p.m. on AM 1370/HD91.5-2.
