Backstage Pass With Pascal Rogé
Fri, 05/01/2009 - 1:00pm
Join Backstage Pass host Julia Figueras as she welcomes the extraordinary pianist Pascal Rogé to the Henry Epstein Studio at WXXI. Backstage Pass with Pascal Rogé airs Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m. and repeats Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m. on Classical 91.5/90.3/HD 91.5-1.
Mr. Rogé exemplifies the finest in French pianism. His elegance, beauty, and stylistically perfect phrasing is displayed in his performances of Poulenc, Satie, Faure, Saint-Saens, and Ravel. A naitive of Paris, Mr. Rogé became an exclusive Decca recording artist at age 17, and since then has performed in almost every major concert hall in the world. He has been honored with many prestigious awards, including two Gramophone Awards, a Grand Prix du Disque, and an Edison Award for his interpretations of the Ravel and Saint-Saens concerti.
Backstage Pass is a live, hour-long radio series that is committed to highlighting performing artists– giving Classical 91.5/90.3 listeners the opportunity to hear local and visiting musicians performing live. The series is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.
