Backstage Pass With Quartsemble
Fri, 04/17/2009 - 1:00pm
On the next Backstage Pass, join host Julia Figueras as she welcomes the innovative chamber music ensemble, Quartsemble, to the Henry Epstein Studio at WXXI. Backstage Pass with Quartsemble airs Friday, April 17 at 1 p.m. and repeats Sunday, April 19 at 2 p.m. on Classical 91.5/90.3/HD 91.5-1.
Quartsemble is dedicated to performing classical masterpieces side by side with Latin music and more contemporary repertoire. It is known for its interactive educational concerts and informal lecture recitals. While the ensemble has a string quintet as its nucleus, the group has much more flexibility than a traditional chamber music group, frequently expanding to incorporate winds, piano, volcalists and speakers.
Backstage Pass is a live, hour-long radio series that is committed to highlighting performing artists– giving Classical 91.5/90.3 listeners the opportunity to hear local and visiting musicians performing live. The series is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.
