Cadenza
Sat, 09/05/2009 - 7:00am - 8:00am
WXXI-FM afternoon host Chris Van Hof presents a new radio program, Cadenza, Saturday mornings at 7 on Classical 91.5/FM-HD91.5-1 beginning September 5. Every Saturday, Van Hof will present an elaborate flourish of selected classical and crossover style music. He'll also present the Composer's Datebook at 7:20 a.m., a two-minute program designed to inform, engage and entertain listeners with timely information about composers of the past and present.
Van Hof joined Classical 91.5 in August 2008 as afternoon host. He received his undergraduate degrees in Music Ed and Trombone Performance from Western Michigan University in 2006 and his Master’s Degree of Music in Trombone Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music in 2008. He is currently Instructor of Low Brass at Nazareth College, and maintains a private studio. He is a founding member of Emerald Brass Quintet and the PoBoys Brass Band.

Cadenza
So far, so cool. Really like what you've played so far - loved the Bela Fleck!
Great to have something different, and lively but not jarring, on a Saturday morning. Congrats.

Just caught the last 15 minutes of your show - was so disappointed that it didn't go on after 8! LOVED that Bela Fleck piece and just ordered it for my banjo playing son. Thanks!

Thanks to you Chris and wxxi for Cadenza. I really enjoy the newer music you're playing here. I only wish it could be two hours in the evening replacing of the New Age stuff.
