Tune in to Classical 91.5 on Wednesday, June 17 between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. as morning host Brenda Tremblay presents a pre-recorded interview between WXXI's Chris Van Hof and guitarist and composer Bob Sneider.

Bob  performs a multi-faceted role as instructor of jazz guitar in both the Eastman School of Music's Collegiate and Community Education Divisions. In addition, Bob also teaches jazz theory & improvisation at the University of Rochester's River Campus, and co-teaches guitar/recorder methods through the Eastman music education department. Before joining the Eastman faculty in 1997, Bob won Down Beat's 1989 "Outstanding Performance in High School Jazz" award, an award he duplicated at the collegiate level in 1993. Following graduation Sneider played with two-time Grammy Award-winner Chuck Mangione for four years (1994-1997). In 1994, he also toured with cornetist Nat Adderley and saxophonist Don Menza. Later that year, Bob and his brother John Sneider (trumpet) toured briefly with a group that featured saxophone phenom Chris Potter. Other notable jazz artists with whom Sneider has performed include: Lou Donaldson, Stanley Turrentine, Nick Brignola, Houston Person, Etta Jones, Nnenna Freelon, Gene Ludwig, Gerry Niewood, Ralph Lalama, Roy McCurdy, Freddie Cole, Jon Faddis, Keeter Betts, and frequent appearances with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Pops. Sneider released his first CD, Introducing Bob Sneider, to critical acclaim, and a new project is in the works for a late 2000 release. Bob can also be heard on John Sneider's debut recording, Panorama, on Doubletime Jazz.

Bob and his Bob Sneider Trio lead the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival Jam Session every night (6-12 thru 6-20) at 10:30 p.m. at the State Street Bar & Grille at the Rochester Plaza Hotel.
