Gay Marriage Supporters Rally Against County Appeal
Demonstrators gathered outside the county office building Monday, to protest a decision to appeal a ruling on benefits for same-sex partners. Last week the county announced it would fight the unanimous decision by an Appellate Division court that forces it to give spousal benefits to same-sex couples married in Canada. Read the Story

I Know It Happened and It Happened Like This
The installation "I Know It Happened and It Happened Like This" is currently on display on the lawn of the George Eastman House. The artist, Heather Layton, says the exhibit calls for all who view it to take responsibility for the welfare of the entire community as it deals with violence. These images show the exhibit in late February ... the piece is interactive, and visitors are encouraged to add their own pieces, to memorialize those who have been lost to violence. Read the Story
