LA Opera On Air

For a sixth consecutive season, Classical KUSC brings you LA Opera On Air, a broadcast series of LA Opera performances recorded live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The weekly series, is hosted by Duff Murphy.

In just a quarter-century of existence, LA Opera has become – under the leadership of general director Placido Domingo – the United States’ fourth largest opera company and “stands out as a newly important force in American opera,” according to Mark Swed in the Los Angeles Times. The season begins with Daniel Catan’s "Il Postino," based on the acclaimed 1994 film, starring Mr. Domingo as the poet Pablo Neruda.
