One of the long-standing hallmarks of WXXI has been its commitment to arts and culture. From the only all-classical radio station in Rochester to an ongoing national series on the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival to recent documentaries on the Eastman Theatre, Albert Paley, and New Horizons — WXXI is the recognized home for local arts.

This week we kick off Dialogue on Disability, one of our annual initiatives of which I am most proud. For more than a decade we have partnered with Al Sigl Community of Agencies to provide special programs that spotlight "the abilities of people with disabilities”.  The initiative was designed to encourage dialogue about the vital role inclusion plays in our community.

Happy New Year and welcome to a year full of exciting productions and events from WXXI! Along with a new year, we have a number of new programs kicking off this January. You have probably already watched the season premiere of Downton Abbey's 5th Season. The series airs Sundays at 9:00 pm but if you miss any episodes, you can catch up here at PBS.org!

On Thursday, October 30th we officially kicked off the public phase of our “Go Public” Campaign. We intend to raise $17 million to ensure that WXXI and the Little Theatre can continue to meet the needs of our community for generations to come.
