We are well into the final season of Downton Abbey and we hope you’re enjoying each and every episode. Downton continues to be one of our most popular Masterpiece presentations. Remember, if you miss an episode, you can watch it the next day online at video.pbs.org.
It’s bittersweet, as it also is the final season. The top-rated PBS drama of all time approaches its last chapter, bringing an end to a remarkable series. Where will fate, passion, ambition, and duty lead public TV’s most beloved characters? You’ll find out, starting Sunday, January 3rd at 9 p.m. on WXXI-TV.
As we enter the holiday season and the end of 2015, it’s a good time to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year. In addition to compelling programming from NPR and PBS and independent films at The Little, I'm proud of the work of the staff of WXXI and The Little. I thought I'd share my top five favorites of 2015:
On November 14th, WXXI hosted our annual Associates Event at Monroe Golf Club and brought in NPR White House Correspondent Scott Horsley as our guest speaker. Scott shared a behind-the-scenes look at the White House and what it’s like reporting on the policy and politics of the Obama Administration.
As we gear up for Election Night, WXXI News is working hard to provide you with the information and resources you need to cast an informative vote. This includes last Monday's Voice of the Voter debate for the Monroe County Executive race.
This Monday (October 26) WXXI News will host a Voice of the Voter debate for the Monroe County Executive race. Former Brighton supervisor Sandra Frankel (Democratic, Working Families and Women’s Equality Parties), Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo (Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform Parties), and Rajesh Barnabas (Green Party) will share their platforms.
Our national healthcare series, Second Opinion, has formed an exciting partnership with the American Heart Association to produce this national television special with the goal of teaching all of America Hands-Only CPR!
Last February WXXI presented a pilot episode of Unleashed: The Pet Show. Thanks to listeners’ feedback and production funding from Rufus Kendig, The Richard T. Bell Foundation, and The Lilliputian Foundation, Unleashed is now a monthly series.
