Let the races begin!
By Norm Silverstein ~ Posted Mon, 10/01/2012 - 9:11am
In what promises to be one of the most pivotal election periods in recent memory — WXXI News has been intently presenting the stories and races so that you can best make an informed decision on who to vote for. WXXI continues its 2012 Election coverage by bringing viewers and listeners live coverage of the first of three presidential debates on Wednesday, October 3 at 9:00 p.m. on WXXI-TV and AM 1370. PBS NEWSHOUR's Jim Lehrer will moderate with domestic policy being the focus. However the debate unfolds, you can be certain that the analysis and dialogue will continue on Morning Edition and 1370 Connection the next day. While on the subject of debates, let me once again remind you that WXXI will host the first debate between Louise Slaughter and Maggie Brooks on October 19. As one of the region's most hotly contested battles, this race for the 25th Congressional District could largely be framed by what happens during this debate, so be sure to mark your calendars! Whether national or local contests, public media will be the one place where you can turn to be part of the discussion this election season.
