Please join us at our Open House on Saturday, October 2.
By Norm Silverstein ~ Posted Tue, 09/28/2010 - 8:44am
I would like to invite you to Go Public! on Saturday, October 2nd as WXXI opens its doors and invites the entire community to attend our Open House. Please join us at our studios at 280 State Street for a behind-the-scenes look at how our programs are created and meet the people that make it happen. Our staff and volunteers spend countless hours assuring that the best programs and services come your way – and we would like to give you the opportunity to see how it all comes together.
WXXI's Open House is a free event with plenty of activities for children and adults. Guests will have a chance to meet some of their favorite PBS Kids’ characters including Buddy from Dinosaur Train and WordGirl, talk with WXXI’s radio hosts, ask questions of our news reporters, visit the sets of Homework Hotline and Need to Know Rochester, discuss PBS’s upcoming fall season with our program director, and discover interesting places throughout the building. For a complete list of all activities, just visit our Open House page.
October 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. we’ll be celebrating WXXI, our staff, our underwriters and – most importantly – you, our members. As you walk in, you will see this greeting projected on the floor: “Welcome to YOUR Station.” All the things we are able to accomplish can only be done with your support. Thank you, and please join us as we show our appreciation for you and our community!
