Summer Television Specials
By Norm Silverstein ~ Posted Thu, 08/07/2014 - 10:44am
Despite the warm, sunny weather, WXXI is doing its best to keep you home for a few evenings next week. Beginning this Sunday, we will have a very short Summer Membership Drive to help embark upon our new fiscal year. The week is packed with varied and interesting programs from Poirot to Suze Orman, but I'd like to make note of a couple nights you'll definitely want to make plans for. On Tuesday, August 12 we present an evening of beautiful Fredrick Olmsted Parks — and then take you on a historical journey through Saratoga Race Track with The Track at Saratoga: America's Grandest Race Course. If you can't squeeze in a vacation this summer, these two beautiful programs will take you away for an evening! The next night, Wednesday, August 13, we present some great music with a Tommy Emmanuel: Center Stage (where we will have tickets for his upcoming Hochstein concert available) followed by Carole King/James Taylor: Live at the Troubadour.
I'm certain you'll enjoy either of those two great nights, or any nights of our upcoming Summer Membership Drive. Your pledge of support makes programs like these possible — thank-you!
