Watch "Bully" and join the discussion
By Norm Silverstein ~ Posted Tue, 04/17/2012 - 10:55pm
This year more than 13 million American kids will be bullied, making it the most common form of violence young people experience. Bringing this startling statistic to life is the new documentary film “Bully,” which will make its debut at the Little Theatre this Friday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. The film, which has recently achieved much media attention, offers an intimate, unflinching look at how bullying has affected five kids and their families. WXXI and the Little Theatre will then try to corral the conversation and the emotions with a talk back after the screening, moderated by WXXI's Hélène Biandudi. Along with parents and students, guests will include Miss New York State, Kaitlin Monte, who has been traveling the state addressing the issues of bullying, as well as Dr. James Colt who has written a book on cyberbullying. It should make for a fascinating discussion. You can read more about the movie and the talk back on the “Bully” event page on our web site.
