WXXI & the Little are Jazzed Up

With the 12th Annual Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival upon us, WXXI and the Little are big players! The Little Theatre is an official Club Pass venue this year, which means that Little Theatre One will be transformed into a concert hall during the nine days of the festival. But if you're not a Club Pass holder and are just looking for a fun place for free music and great food — the Little has that covered, as well. The Freed Maxick Jazz Tent in the Little parking lot on Winthrop Street has two performances nightly, plus it's a perfect place to grab a drink, some Salena's snacks, and take in some fresh music. Come by to put your feet up and organize your festival plans — you'll be surprised how many people just end up spending the night!
If you do end up wandering the Festival though, you'll find it hard not to see WXXI at every turn. Aside from recording the newest season of our national Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival series at Kilborn Hall, our camera crews will be shooting the sights and sounds throughout the Festival. Be sure to stop by our WXXI booth at the gateway to the Festival at Main Street and Jazz Street and pick-up a concise schedule of everything we're doing — as well as special gift! Finally, if you get home and can't get jazz out of your head — tune to WXXI-TV at midnight for rebroadcasts of classic episodes of our Jazz Festival series. There's much more to discover from news to classical here on our Jazz Fest web page, but there's no denying that WXXI and the Little are jazzed up this June!
