Be more involved in your community in 2017!

As we enter 2017, a great New Year’s resolution to make is to be more involved in your community and to have a better awareness of how others live their lives. This January is a perfect time to start, since that’s when we join our good friends at Al Sigl Community of Agencies for our annual Dialogue on Disability initiative, January 23-29. For more than a decade we have provided special programs that spotlight the abilities of people with disabilities and encourage community dialogue about the vital role inclusion plays in our community. This year we’re hosting a free screening of Gabe, about a young man with muscular dystrophy, at the Little Theatre on Wednesday, January 25 at 6:30 p.m. You’ll find details about the film on the cover of this magazine and a list of TV and radio specials planned for the week on the following pages. We will also have news reports and community conversations on Connections with Evan Dawson, plus special programming on Classical 91.5.

The vital work of Dialogue on Disability has served as a model for our current partnership with the Golisano Foundation and our Move to Include initiative.  Move to Include allows us to continue to present special TV and radio programming, news features, film screenings with panel discussions, and other offerings that engage our audiences and promote inclusion throughout the year.
