A Walk Through History in Mount Hope Cemetery
A Walk Through History in Mount Hope Cemetery
Thu, 03/14/2013 - 9:30pm - 10:30pm
Mount Hope Cemetery is America's first municipal Victorian cemetery and the subject of WXXI’s latest documentary, A Walk Through History in Mount Hope Cemetery.
A Walk Through History in Mount Hope Cemetery spotlights the magnificent 196-acre piece of land, with its lofty hills and picturesque valleys, and features the mausoleums, Egyptian obelisks, Florentine cast-iron fountain, and the infinitely varied tombstones marking 350,000 graves. On Thursday, March 14 at 9:30 p.m. WXXI-TV/HD tune in for this special documentary, shot in high definition, that shares the history behind the cemetery, the people buried there, the symbolism behind the monuments, and much more.
