Informed School Choice
As a parent of 3 children in the Rochester City School District I am appalled and disheartened by this news of 9 failing high schools! It comes at a time when I, along with thousands of parents, are deciding where to place their students who are transitioning from elementary to middle and high school. The deadline for choosing a school is next Friday, Jan. 29! It is not fair to ask parents to choose schools before the district's restructuring plans are announced. The district must put the choice process on hold and allow families to make in INFORMED decision!!!
