NY State Police Superintendent to Retire
Harry Corbitt announced on Tuesday night that he is retiring effective Wednesday. Corbitt cited intense media scrutiny for his decision which he announced during a television interview in Albany about the ongoing scandal over potential witness tampering in a domestic violence case.
Corbitt is the second law enforcement official to leave state government in a week. Corbitt's boss Denise O'Donnell resigned in protest of Governor Paterson's handling of allegations of domestic violence against his top aide David Johnson.
