The New Space Race: Who Gets Retired Shuttles?

NASA is retiring its shuttle fleet this year, and 21 museums across the country are vying for the chance to become a retirement home for one of the iconic space shuttles.

As NPR reports in this story heard on Morning Edition on WXXI-AM 1370, NASA only has three spaceships and one of them is already promised to the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.
