Full Coverage and Analysis of the Sale of PAETEC

A company called Windstream in Little Rock, Arkansas is buying Fairport-based PAETEC, the company that had planned to build a new headquarters on the site of the former Midtown Plaza.

The surprise announcement came Monday morning and included this quote from PAETEC CEO Arunas Chesonis:

  • "Both PAETEC and Windstream are built on a customer and employee-focused culture. Together, with far denser network assets, an expansive fiber infrastructure, and larger data center footprint, I believe our brightest days are ahead."

WXXI Innovation Trail reporter Zack Seward interviewed Chesonis about the deal.

GRE's Mark Peterson spoke with WXXI's Bob Smith on what the sale of PAETEC means to downtown.

Local Analyst George Conboy also appeared on 1370 Connection Monday and talked about PAETEC.

The news release featuring the announcement can be found on the PAETEC website and on Windstream's website.
