DEC Releases New Proposed Hydrofracking Rules

WXXI Capitol Bureau Correspondent Karen DeWitt reports the state Department of Environmental Conservation has increased the public comment period as part of its just-released new hydrofracking rules.

Karen's story on the report looks at the hearings to be held in the Marcellus shale region, where the hydrofracking on private lands is likely to be permitted, and the study on the potential socio economic impacts of fracking - including thousands of potential jobs.
