Gas Drilling Boom Brings New Life to Steel Industry
NPR's Jeff Brady reports on how the natural gas drilling boom in Pennsylvania is helping the economies of Rust Belt cities long accustomed to bad news.
While much attention has been paid to the environmental risks of drilling into the Marcellus Shale, the economic benefits have been less prominent in the national discussion.
Jeff takes a look at those economic benefits from the point of view of the small city of Youngstown, Ohio.
This story is featured on WXXI's Innovation Trail website which has done extensive reporting on the debate over hydrofracking in New York State.
