Energy Company Goes Bankrupt, Despite Millions from NYS and Feds

A renewable energy company, is declaring bankruptcy after receiving federal funds from the same program that subsidized the failed solar firm Solyndra and funding from New York State.

WXXI Innovation Trail reporter Marie Cusick says Massachusetts-based Beacon Power opened a plant near Albany in Stephentown, NY last year and received $2 million from New York's Energy Research and Development Authority.
