Homework Hotline

Homework Hotline is WXXI’s live NY statewide public broadcasting education and online show is designed for students in 4th-12th grades. Homework Hotline provides the tools students need to succeed in school by supporting problem solving and real world topics across a variety of curricular areas.  Host teachers from Rochester Teachers Association (RTA), who are experts in subjects teach interactive lessons and provide academic challenges to viewers. The series won a 2014 New York State Broadcasters Association Award of Excellence, Best Locally Produced Program for Children. The program also hosts a companion Web site at homeworkhotline.org, which earned a 2008 Parents’ Choice Award. It also provides on-demand learning resources and video segments.

Short video across the curriculum air during the show and play in the Homework Hotline video player on the website. Topics include: Science, Health, History, Move to Include, Careers, Zoophily, Student Book Reviews, and More. Students that answer the most daily challenges by email or phone are listed in Hall of Fame.

Statewide funding is provided by New York State United Teachers (NYSUT)
