While February is keeping the temperature cold outside, the political season has begun to heat up. From the Republican primary process, to Governor Cuomo’s budget battle in Albany, to Kodak’s ongoing bankruptcy situation, you can trust WXXI News will be at the forefront, providing all the information and analysis you will need. When it comes to making sense of the changing political and economic landscape, our Center for Public affairs brings a unique frame of reference that interprets what has happened, and tries to provide future perspective. Whether it’s enterprising stories from the Innovation Trail or an incisive documentary on Frontline, public media provides the in-depth coverage on important issues and subjects that matter most to you. To further illustrate that, WXXI invites you to explore the intriguing political life of our 42nd president at a free American Experience presentation at the Little Theatre.
On Monday, February 13 from 6-8 p.m. WXXI will host this free screening of American Experience: Clinton, followed by a talkback with Dr. Timothy Kneeland, Professor in History and Political Science at Nazareth College. Join us at the Little to watch this film that explores the history of an American president who rose from a broken childhood to become one of the most successful politicians in modern American history. This screening and talkback is free and open to the public. For more information – and to watch a video preview of the program – click here.
If you can't make the screening on February 13, be sure to tune in to WXXI-TV/HD on Monday, February 20 at 9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 21 at 8 p.m. for the two-part Clinton series. But I do hope you can attend both the screening and, what’s anticipated to be, a fascinating talkback. It’s another example of what WXXI’s new long-term affiliation with the Little Theatre presents: in this instance, an opportunity for the community to get together, share a compelling film, and exchange thoughts and ideas with each other.
